Hi, I'm Alexis! 〰️

I started Humble Banana because most vegan ice creams were too sweet for me, full of ingredients I couldn’t pronounce, and made me feel guilty after eating them.

The year 2020 was one of the most profound experiences we have ever had due to the COVID pandemic. Almost every store and business was shut down, and needless to say, we were pretty stressed. We turned to anything comforting—phone calls and Zoom meetings with friends and family; spending quality time with our families indoors; picking up a craft or new talent to learn; watching binge-worthy shows on Netflix—and probably eating ice cream.

I remember craving ice cream badly due to the stress, but since all the gyms were closed down, I didn’t want to gain weight from eating all that sugar, and desperately needed a healthier option. That’s when my partner (who’s an incredible chef) and I took some frozen bananas from our freezer, blended it up and made some (n)ice cream. We didn’t need to add any sugar, maple syrup or sweeteners to it at all. Just some powdered açaí and peanuts on top. Nothing processed, not too sweet. Super healthy. I remember saying, “This is the best nice cream I’ve ever had in my life.”

I thought about sharing that moment with others, and that’s when Humble Banana was born. The smile on my face when I eat our (n)ice cream is what I want everyone to experience themselves when they taste our incredible flavors. Our mission is to provide a healthy, phenomenally-tasting dessert, made with no added sugars or sweeteners, so you can enjoy it without guilt and know that you are putting whole food ingredients, not artificial or processed, into your body.

(N)ICE CREAM: a dairy-free dessert made by blitzing pieces of frozen fruit in a food processor or high-speed blender. It’s a common dessert made at home that’s quick, easy, nutritious and delicious.
